How do i tell him i like him?

ok, so i have known this guy since 3rd grade and im 13 in 7th grade now. And i have liked him ever since but i really started likeing him in 6th grade when we sat next together in two cles for the whole year. He was also very sweet to me in 6th grade he used to be all nice and stuff and did stuff for me. And we made paper fingers and wrote who we liked in them and we tryed to take them from eachother. and his name was in mine and he never saw it. So when summer came he asked me out and we went out for 4 months from june to october. then we broke up for i dont know what reason. but we became friends again like we were maybe even better friends. but then he started dating my friend sydnie who is a year younger than us but they broke up 2 months ago, and she is ok with me likeing him. so recently i have been wanting him to know i like him but i dont know how to tell him. oh and my friend jazzy and me were writting notes to eachother and she asked my who i liked and i said "Ryan" and i told her why and a bunch of stuff and ryan almost got the note because i made it into i finger like last year. And we were like fighting over it i chased him and he ran too fast but my friend richard got it from him and ripped it up(: but i still want him to know i like him.....how do i tell him?????
